Candidates interested in working as x-ray technologists in Maryland must complete an accredited radiography program. Although you may find many schools offering this type of training, the school must be JRCERT-certified because this is a prerequisite for state and national certification.

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT) indicates that there are about 13 approved schools in Maryland. Radiology technology programs offer a curriculum of theory-based courses, lab studies and clinical education. The student must also complete a supervised internship at approved medical locations throughout the state. During the internship, the student gains hands-on training performing radiology procedures.

Radiology Tech Certification Requirements in Maryland
